How Much Does a Food Kiosk or Food Stand Cost? The Prices, Published

PODULAR · 20 October 2026

You know where it would go. A hotel lobby, the front of a grocery store, a concourse, a campus building, the corner of a market hall where people already walk past every day. Before anything else, you want one number: what does a food kiosk actually cost?

Most of the market will not answer that without a conversation, and the numbers that do get published rarely cover the same things — one may be the kiosk, another the kiosk plus a construction project around it. Here is ours, in full, with the parts named.

The short answer

  • The PODULAR Pod — Starter Model: $45,000, one-time. Your branding — inlaid or decal — and the modular buildout are included.
  • An electrical-only build starts at $30,000. No plumbing, no graywater: the packaged-drinks bar, the micro-retail store, the information stand.
  • Dome and robot options are sold separately, priced on request.
  • Your first year of BOS is included with every pod purchase.
  • Equipment financing for your pod can be arranged through third-party lenders — ask when you request your quote. The terms come from the lender, not from us.

What follows is what each part buys.

What the price includes

A PODULAR stand is not built on your site. It is built off-site, fully plumbed and wired, with the utilities distribution running inside the patented UD Wall. It arrives finished, which is why there is no construction window to absorb and no downtime before trading.

What that means in the price:

  • The build itself. Counters, the plumbing, the wiring and the modular buildout inside — planned as a modular fit-out rather than fixed into a building.
  • Your branding. Inlaid or as decals, applied before it reaches you, so the brand is on the stand rather than on a to-do list.
  • The first year of BOS (Business Operating System) — the software the stand runs on. Orders, menu, team, one dashboard, card payments built in.
  • Equipment you own. Because the stand arrives as equipment rather than an improvement to someone else's building, a site that stops working is a site you relocate from, not one you rebuild.

The pod and the UD Wall are covered by granted patents — PODULAR is the only place a stand like this comes from.

What the price does not include

This is the part most price pages skip, so here it is in the same plain terms:

  • The equipment layout is planned with you. The layouts on our site are example build-outs to plan around, not fixed lists. Tell us your concept and we lay out the exact equipment with you. A hot-food stand is fitted with electric or induction stove-top burners — no fryers and no ovens. If your menu depends on a fryer or an oven, the honest answer is that this is not the stand for it, and we would rather say so before you spend anything.
  • The dome and the robot are options, sold separately, priced on request.
  • BOS after the first year. BOS Starter is $49 a month introductory, limited to the first 100 subscribers — $49 a month for your first year, then $99 a month, with a 14-day free trial. Growth is $199 a month for more than one location or a heavier operation; Venue is custom pricing, quoted by email.
  • The financing terms. Those belong to the lender you arrange them with.
  • Anything specific to your site. That is settled when you request your quote, not guessed at here.

Why there is no industry average on this page

We are not going to publish a "typical kiosk cost", because there is no honest version of it. Two quotes for what sounds like the same thing can differ by whether the price is the kiosk or the kiosk plus a construction project around it: a fit-out that includes drainage, a hand sink, a dedicated circuit and a hood over anything that cooks is a different purchase from a finished unit with all of it already inside.

So the useful comparison is not against an average. It is line by line, against the quotes you already hold:

  • Does the other number include the branding?
  • Does it include the buildout inside?
  • Does it include the plumbing and the wiring?
  • Does it include the software that runs the day?
  • And is the thing you are paying for yours, or is it attached to a building you do not own?

If the answer to any of those is no, the two numbers are not the same number.

One pod, three formats — which one you are pricing

The same pod takes three formats, and which one you choose is most of the reason two quotes differ:

  • A micro-retail store — a small shop, run from a finished stand.
  • An information stand — attended, staffed by real people, no cooking.
  • A bar that needs power only — packaged drinks, bottled and canned, with no water connection.

The bar, the micro-retail store and the information stand are the shapes the electrical-only build (from $30,000) is made for. A hot-food counter needs the plumbed pod ($45,000). Same stand, same system, different amount of plumbing.

What this is not

Honest scope, before you ask us for a quote:

  • Not a food truck, and not a towed cart. A pod is set on a location. If that location stops working, you relocate the stand; you do not drive it between pitches.
  • Not a unit in stock. Each stand is built for the site and the format you choose, so the conversation starts with where it is going and what you want to sell from it.
  • Not a business handed to you. You buy the pod and the system and run your own food brand out of it, served by real people — your own staff. The stands are automation-ready, with integrated automation still ahead.

The next number is yours

If all you needed was the cost, it is at the top: $45,000 complete, from $30,000 electrical-only, the first year of BOS included, dome and robot priced on request. If the next question is what yours would cost, that is answered with the site and the format in front of us: where the stand would sit, what you want to serve from it, and what the buildout should look like. Send us those details and we will reply by email with your quote.
